Seal and Heidi and the not matching charts

Even when two persons' signs don't match, they can have a long time relationship. Often Venus is making a sweet aspect between the charts and than everything looks sweet, nice and attractive. Seal and Heidi Klum never had matching charts. They were together long enough to become parents. Venus quatronovile (160d) Venus was of great help and so was his Mars biquintile her Mars. They had a good time, but now it is over. Here is the chart of the day of birth of Seal. The transits (the positions outside the circle) are Heidi's.

His Sun in Pisces, hers in Gemini

Those signs - and life styles - don’t match. Who is the boss? Who is the one getting attention?

Her Moon in Gemini and his in Sagittarius or Capriocorn. No match. They have to make compromises to live in the same room.

The signs of their Mercury are Aquarius and Gemini. The Mercury’s don’t make a nasty aspect, so they seem to be able to communicate.

Venus quatronovile Venus is great. They enjoy each other’s presence and love each other. Such an aspect helps to keep the relationship going for a long time, even if there is no match.

Mars biquintile Mars:; creative cooperation! They created 3 children!

Passion is OK and so is communication, but they have a different life style and different habits. But they also have a mutual Pluto-Sun synastry. Pluto is for intensity and intensity makes it hard when you are basically different.

Famous couple: Brigitte Bardot and Roger Vadim

When I wrote about the charts of beautiful women I forgot to mention one of the most well known symbols of female attraction: Brigitte Bardot. Brigitte is a Libra with it’s ruler Venus in a wide sextile with Pluto and inconjunct Saturn. That is in line with the Venus-Saturn-Pluto combinations that I found in the charts of other beauties. It hurts to remain beautiful:).

Here is the chart of the ‘star’, born with an unaspected Sun. This ‘calling’ Sun symbolizes drawing attention (performance and show). The Sun makes a minor aspect with Neptune (22.5 degree half semi square). Sun-Neptune combinations (see Astromarkt) are not uncommon in the charts of actors, animal lovers and those with a ‘double identity’, like actors have. They are idols and not always who we think that they are.

ROGER

She married Roger Vadim, the man who brought her to fame, when she was only 18. They stayed together for 5 years and then divorced. That is interesting, because their sun signs were a match (5^th degree Libra – 5^th degree Aquarius)! So what is it that ended their relationship anyway?

1. Their moon signs didn’t match (Gemini and Pisces)

2. Neither did their Venus positions (Virgo and Sagittarius)

3. Her fiery Mars in Leo was no match for the controlled Mars in Capricorn of Vadim.

4. He may have idolized her (his Neptune semi square her Midheaven) and when it comes to reality, Neptune fades away...

5. His Pluto inconjunct her Ascendant might be a difficult aspect to handle.

Maybe this all was too complicated, even though there are a lot of aspects with her Ascendant. For example: his Juno was square her Ascendant (she might have been the perfect woman for him at first sight) and his Sedna (symbol of the daughter, young woman) was trine her Ascendant. He may have idolized her (his Neptune semi square her Midheaven). Perhaps that is why the movie that he directed was named 'And God created women'.

There were too many obstacles and there was not enough love (Venus) to compensate for that. Vadim married more than once. Moon square Saturn and Mars square Uranus are two of the indications for divorce in a man’s chart. Bardot has Mars opposition Saturn and a double bodied sign on the seventh house cusp to illustrate the risk of divorce or separation. She married three times. She is now still married with number three, a right conservative politician.

ACTING

What in her chart characterizes her as an actress? First let us see the circumstances and situation when she started. She was born rich and beautiful and had the chance to be seen in places where the rich and famous had their holidays. In those circumstances she drew attention (Sun is ‘calling’). She was orientated on the non-material side of life (ideals, faith or fantasy). The important Moon opposition Ascendant tells us about attraction and sense of what the people want and need. The prominence of Sun and Moon show the prominence of motivation. She is a star (Sun) and popular (Moon). The midpoint Sun/Moon = Node (that means that the community, family or groups motivate her).

The Moon is square Neptune (for sensitivity) and sesquisquare Jupiter (for the need for success)…Moon with Jupiter and Neptune helps you get fans and followers. The Moon is also semi square Pluto. Jupiter-Pluto combinations are indicative for success. Her popularity is evident. The Moon in Gemini (feeling young forever) appealed to the public.

It is clearly the picture of a popular star. The pattern of artistic professional talent is like this:

Venus and Neptune rising before the Libra Sun, a Libra MC and a Moon square Neptune. Midheaven completes the pattern (Venus half semi square Midheaven, Midheaven in aspect with Moon and Neptune).

This is the chart of Orson Welles. He married Rita Hayworth on a September 7 and that is why I looked at his chart. They were married for only 5 years. The 'transits' are the positions of the day of birth of Rita Hayworth. Let's see why they divorced.

MATCH

His Sun is in Taurus and hers in Libra, in a 157.5 degree minor aspect (see: do your birthdays match?) The signs didn't match, but they drew each others attention.

The moonsigns don't match

There is no match with Mercury, either

Venus is opposition Venus (opposites are attractive)

Mars is trine Mars (they cooperated and they were sexually attracted)

SHARING...

His Sun square Uranus and her Sun trine Uranus

That means that they shared an aspect between Sun and Uranus.

Her Jupiter square his Mars: they had a daughter together. Mars-Jupiter favors production and reproduction.

CONCLUSION

They didn't match and that is what she said, too. But they were attracted and got married and had a child. On the day that he married the progressed ascendant was inconjunct his Moon and transit Saturn on his Ascendant. Those were not exactly good signs to start with, even though the Moon is in his 7th house. As I said, he married more than once (Venus in Aries for love at first sight, Sagittarius on cusp 7 and Sun/Moon with Uranus for being motivated by change...). Here is the chart for the wedding day:

Divorce of the Schwarzeneggers

Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver will end their marriage. It was their first and it lasted for a long time. They were a married couple for 22 years. Nevertheless: Arnold Schwarzenegger has a few indications for divorce*) and it was their first marriage. In those cases (depending on the culture of course) there is always a risk for divorce, especially when there is no economical or financial barrier to be take and when the charts don't seem to match much. It takes a lot of compensation or glue to stick together, then. All we know is that a famous couple is going to separate and that their charts are reflecting the possible (nasty) change.

The indications for possible divorce in his chart are:

Mars conjunct Uranus

Moon square Neptune

Sun in 1 conjunct ruler 7 (Saturn)

And Venus quintile Neptune (for creative romancing:)

MARIA

Maria Shriver has Venus trine Uranus (and, because of the trine, that is not supposed to be an affliction between Venus and Uranus, one of the indications for divorce in a woman's chart*) but there is more. Ruler 1 is square ruler 7 (Venus square Pluto) and she has Mars quintile Uranus. That means that Arnold and Maria share a Mars-Uranus aspect. I hope that it didn't mean that they joined short fuses! Perhaps they just loved to have controversies about politics...The Venus/Saturn = Descendant combination in Maria's chart perhaps kept them together for long. You know, Venus-Saturn sticks like glue, because of the children, the mortgage or the parents or whatever reason that you need to keep a marriage going on.

NOW...

Now their progressed Midheavens changed sign and it was about time for another goal in life. Transit Saturn is square her progressed Sun and semi square her progressed AC/MC to illustrate the end of a period in life and separation/hard times. She had been contemplating about divorce for long but now was the time, apparently (see Uranus trine and Neptune inconjunct IC). Neptune inconjunct his progressed Mars with transit Pluto square progressed Sun and Uranus square Moon might describe the situation for Arnold (difficulties, 'surprises' and energy drain). He has recently quit politics and plans to restart a career in the movies (Pluto-Sun often reflects a come back, a new challenge).

You see that both have difficult aspects right now and that both have strong indications for change in life (the changing MC's, Uranus, Pluto).

MATCH

This marriage didn't last forever, but it took a long time to separate. That is perhaps because of the 60% placements in fixed signs in Maria's chart (with Venus/Saturn=DC). Fixed stars don't give up easily, even if there is no match.

Their Suns don't match, to start with (different lifestyles). Their Moons (and habits) don't match. Mercury doesn't understand Mercury. Venus is trine Venus, but out of sign. So they liked each other, in spite of different tastes. Mars in conflict with Mars doesn't go for peace and might be exciting or thrilling. And her Moon is in his Sunsign, and that is a traditional match.

It is not much of a match and perhaps that is why it just had to end one day.

Here I read that a Chinese grandmother killed her grandson because she was afraid that his zodiac sign didn't get along with the signs in the family: a bizar and cruel crime! It is almost incredible...,but I think that there are many persons who say goodbye to a new found possible partner just because they think that their sunsigns don't match. They do so, without even knowing if their birthdays DO match or if they just left a partner whose Venus was in a perfect trine with their Sun...They do so, without knowing if they share many good aspects. It is all prejudice. When sunsigns don't match (and birthdays don't either), there is a way out: be brave and try to start a relationship with someone with a different view of life. Worse, when sunsigns do match, there might be wrong moonsigns or wrong birthdays!;) So, you need to know the exact birthday and preferably the year and hour to see what's the challenge of your relationship. When it is the sunsign, it will be a challenge to live together as one. So why not be modern and have a life of your own, even though you are married:). There are a few sunsign-(mis)matches on this blog. The blue ones are with 'correct' sun signs, the red ones with not matching signs. The italic/fat couples (7) divorced. Two of them had matching sun signs. The 3 couples that didn't divorce had the 'wrong' sunsigns. It is not statistics, it is just a list that shows you that there is more about love and relationships than just sun signs! There is even more than just astrology (how about culture, age, gender?:)

A couple of years ago Charlie Sheen married Brooke Mueller (see Wikipedia) and she is the mother of their twin. Their divorce will be effective in May 2011. But before, did they match? No, they didn't.

Moon in Sagittaris (his) is OK for Moon in Libra:YES for compatible habits

Mercury in Leo (his) Mercury in Virgo (hers):NO, for disagreeing

Venus square Venus (they were attracted to each other, but they have conflicting desires, different sympathies and tastes): NO (but attracted, yes)

There was little 'agreement' between the charts. Their sunsigns didn't match and there was no compensation for it (Venus could have been the symbol of that).

SHARED ASPECTS

When you share aspects, you share the same characteristics or experiences.

Both have a Sun-Saturn aspect, so what they share is...responsibility (parenthood, for example). The twin will connect, forever. Quoting Astromarkt:

Aurora and Sun-Uranus synastry

Recently I ‘discovered’ two couples who are not their ideal match at all and nevertheless stayed together till death did or until death will part them (it is too late for divorce or new lovers now).

The interesting thing about these two couples is that Uranus – the symbol of freedom- is the key to the relationship. The Uranus of one partner is in hard aspect with the Sun of the other partner. It is one man and one woman.

Generally Sun-Uranus-interaction between the charts of married couples is considered to turn the relationship into a ‘flashlight’ love and tension is supposed to ruin the excitement of the beginning. But, what if the partner is considered to be the ‘key to freedom’ in the eyes of the other? What if the partner ‘woke up’ his lover after a long, long and boring sleep?

The Uranus partners (with their Uranus in conflict with the partner’s Sun) both had an aspect between Sun and Uranus in the natal chart (Sun opposition Uranus and Sun sextile Uranus). With Sun opposition Uranus one might select a ‘different kind of a’ partner, to be different (because of someone else). With Sun sextile Uranus the easy way out to independence and freedom was through the partner and he (the Sun person) accelerated her life.

Some persons want to have a different kind of life (than their parents had, for example) and – not deliberately - choose the less resembling partner, the complete stranger, to liberate and alienate themselves from their backgrounds. How long could this have been going on? Until 'liberation day', of course. But, in the cases of my study, the Uranus-persons of the synastry also had Venus-Saturn aspects in their charts! And Venus-Saturns sticks like a stamp to a letter!:) Even if the marriage turned into friendship...(And even if the marriage fell asleep, waiting for another Prince to come...).

It is always a pleasure to see an exception when it is about matching (compatible) signs. Queen Victoria's Sun in Gemini was exactly square the Sun in Virgo of her beloved husband Prince Albert. Their sunsigns didn't match. They had 9 children together, so I don't suppose that she didn't like him. But of course: she was the queen and she was the boss! When Sun's don't match it is often a matter of 'who is the boss'. She was, she was the queen.

Also: his Moon in Scorpio is inconjunct her Moon in Gemini! There must have been difficulties to get used to each other's habits and traditions or...unbalancing emotions.

What is the compensation for it? Venus matches Venus (there is a 127.5/128 degree difference, a distance that I consider of importance).
Mars is semisesquisquare Mars (fire!!! and possible fights)

There are a lot of challenging aspects between them and there is little compensation in synastry. His Juno trine her Moon and Midheaven is nice, though. We can see the importance of marriage in her chart: Juno is exactly square the Ascendant

They share aspects and that helps! For example: both have Venus trine Uranus. That means that they shared a sort of an excitement about each other, a repeating sensation of falling in love. They also shared Venus trine Neptune: romantic feelings. And Mars-Jupiter (overproduction?:): she has Mars sextile Jupiter, he has Mars sesquisquare Jupiter.

The chart of Albert and Victoria are a perfect example of not matching signs and the effect of sharing aspects. They were 'lovers as well as partners in a great enterprise' is what I read here...

DEATH OF ALBERT
Victoria lost her husband too soon. when that happened progressed Venus was square natal Mars and in the progressed chart Moon was square Midheaven. A very important indication of what was to happen is in the solar return chart: Sun square Saturn and Neptune on Midheaven.

BTW Ceres is conjunct Moon on the Ascendant of Queen Victoria in line with the importance of motherhood/dynasty.

When signs don't match it is a challenge to continue the relationship. Famous examples of not matching signs are Pattie Boyd and Eric Clapton. This famous couple divorced. Four years ago Pattie Boyd wrote a book about the marriage. It seems to have been her 'revenge' on Eric Clapton (see the news of 2006).

Pattie Boyd is born 17th March 1944 (time unknown) and she divorced Eric Clapton (30 March 1945, 20h55 in Ripley Surray, UK). They did not match much. Here is the (DD-rated so time is not official!) natal chart of Eric Clapton by Astrodatabank with the transits of the day of birth of Pattie Boyd.

Mariah Carey is pregnant and married to Nick Cannon, whose Ceres (symbol of motherhood, genes and seeds) is conjunct her Ascendant. Before, Mariah Carey married and divorced TOMMY MOTTOLA, her first producer. She met him in 1988. Here is her chart with his positions in green:

They didn't match much. Her sun in Aries, his in Cancer. Her Moon in Sagittarius, his in Pisces. Her Mercury in Aries, his in Cancer. Her Mars in Taurus is novile his in Gemini (and the novile is for joy), but Venus 112.5 (square and half semi square) Venus separated their ideas about style. Notice that his Saturn is inconjunct her Midheaven. Saturn is the symbol of age, restrictions and goodbye's. The story goes that he restricted her in many ways. After the divorce she started dressing more sexy than ever. Anyway, she divorced (natal Sun opposition Uranus, Venus quindecile Uranus; two out of the four indications for possible divorce in the chart of women...*).

BTW Sun opposition Uranus is on the vertical line in the chart (the MC-IC axis). She divorced the man who made her a star, after alienation.

NICK CANNON
Her second husband is much younger than her first. Nick Cannon was born October 8, 1980. That is about 30 years younger and he is also 10 years younger than Mariah is. This is her chart with his positions on the outside.

Their Suns don't match. He is a Libra, she is an Aries.

The marriages of Princess Anne of England

Princess Anne of England married twice. Her natal charts has 3 out of the 4 indications for divorce for women*) and a conflict between the rulers of the 1^st and 7^th house. That is enough for at least one divorce. This post is about the matches.

FIRST MARRIAGE

Princess Anne’s first husband, the father of her children, is Mark Philips, an Olympic medal winnig horseman. They married on November 14, 1973 and divorced in 1992.During their marriage he had an affair and fathered a daughter (in August 1985). This was confirmed by a DNA-test in 1991, soon after her progressed Venus conjunct Saturn (an astrological statement for a depression in a marriage).

Anne and Mark didn’t match much from the start. Their Mars and Moons were in the ‘right’ signs, but their Sun signs, Mercuries and Venus didn’t match. They had children together, but they didn’t like each other much in the end.

BTW His Jupiter was trine her Sun and that is mirroring support and trust. Apparently that doesn’t mean that a person will be faithful and true. It just means that one of the partners puts her/his trust in the other one (and we don’t know if that was the right thing to do).

SECOND MARRIAGE

Princess Anne’s present husband is Tim Laurence. They aren’t married in the Church of England, because this Church (with the Queen as leader) doesn’t allow marriage after divorce. (Watch Uranus in the 9^th house for this. It is an indication for a change in conviction or religion).

They married on December 12,1992 and are still together, in spite of their synastry. The Venus opposition Venus, Mars opposition Mars and his Neptune square her Venus is pointing at a passionate and romantic start and risking later ups and downs, competition or even fights. Or perhaps they manage to control that in trying to beat each other in sports:).

When she got married her Progressed Sun was sextile the Midheaven and inconjunct Jupiter. Transit Pluto and Pallas were on the progressed Ascendant. Also T Jupiter was inconjunct Venus. I guess that that aspect is reflecting the wedding partyJ.

She studied Spanish language and literature. She became a catholic when she married her Carlos Hugo de Borbon, who didn’t become the King of Spain, though he wanted to. She gave up her position in the Netherlands for this marriage…on the 29^th of April 1964. AC/MC is semi square Juno, showing how crucial her marriage was.

The majority of the positions on her wedding day show formality and distance (her family was not allowed to be in church that day because the government hadn’t agreed with the marriage. I can give a complete list of transits and progressions, but it is actually enough to point at the transit op Saturn, opposition progressed Venus and conjunct progressed Moon. The honeymoon (Moon-Venus) and the formal situation putting her down. My latest post was about the effect of Venus-Saturn and this is another example of it.

She divorced him later. It was her first and only marriage. *)

MATCH WITH CARLOS HUGO

His Saturn is inconjunct her natal Sun and his Uranus is trine her natal Sun. Their Sun signs are matching though the Suns are 112.5 degrees apart (a square + half semi square!), and their Venus don’t match (square). His Moon might be conjunct her Sun (a traditional synastry aspect between a man and a woman, but more often it is his Sun and her Moon) and their Moon signs are matching.

The Saturn inconjunct Sun combination is the most important indication for divorce and separations (or boundaries, obstacles and limitations without control, making it hard to be together), though there are more (not mentioned here). Her ex-husband is still around when family matters (maybe because of the matching Moons.). They have four children together.

PS Today there was an announcement that Prince Carlos Hugo de Borbon is dying now. He already said goodbye to his family.

*) Princess Irene has all of the four aspect combinations of possible divorce*) in her chart, but only 2 of them are difficult (the square and the quindecile):

Venus and Saturn when you are young

When you are young, Venus-Saturn and broken hearts seem to go hand in hand, more often when there has been an attempt to keep up appearances for the world outside or when you get or stay married in order to be decent and correct, or just to please the parents. Venus-Saturn isn’t one of the easy aspects, not in marriage and not in social situations. There is always distance and caution or the fear to be rejected. Somehow the person with Venus-Saturn in the chart learned to manage and control feelings and desires, the hard way. Often the learning process started with the first steps on the path of romance. That is when the first bricks are building the wall that separates reality from preferences.

This blog is about love. How about love and Venus-Saturn when you are young? Here is an example that I found in the news today...and links to more about Venus-Saturn, sharing this aspect with a partner and the effect of Orcus (again!).

Perhaps they are a little too young to be kept together by duty, parenthood and convention and learning the hard way that love and being cautious go hand in hand. The shared Venus-Saturn aspect is not the only indication for the way that this couple started and ended their serious relationship. There is also a Mars square Mars in synastry (' fire' and later ' fighting' ) and his Saturn is square her natal Sun (creating distance). On top of that, her Orcus is square his Sun. His Orcus 75 her Sun. And Orcus is the symbol of the broken promises. ..See the charts with the positions on their birthdays and the positions of their ex-fiance on the outside of the circle.

But let’s see about their Venus-Saturn.

Levi Johnston has Venus and Mars rising before the Sun (a guy with a passion and a drive). Venus is at Aries Point. Saturn is in his own sign Capricorn. They are important players in his chart. They are also important in the chart of his ex-fiance, who has Venus in Libra square Saturn in Capricorn.

Bristol Palin is a Libra. She might have a Libra Moon also. Libra doesn’t want to be alone and will keep searching fot a partner.There are 4 out of ten positions in Libra and 4 (included Pholus) are in Capricorn. Capricorn doesn’t match with Libra. There is a square between the rulers of Libra (Venus) and Capricorn (Saturn) and that is a strong square between rulers in their own sign.

Bristol has Venus square Saturn. The father of her child has Venus on Aries Point sextile Saturn in Capricorn. They share a Venus-Saturn aspect.

Postitions of Bristol ('transits' are positions of Levi).

PS Other example is a couple living apart ‘apart’ but officially they remain married. His Saturn is exactly square her Pluto and Pluto is her ruler 1. When he stepped out of the house, she had progressed Sun opposition Pluto and he had a progressed inconjunction of Venus and Saturn with progressed Ascendant square Saturn. Venus is inconjunct Saturn in his natal chart, too, so this aspect activated the existing 'to say goodbye to your lover, but...'. Her Venus is conjunct Saturn. So they share the aspect of the official marriage (and the disadvantages of it). You find this example and others in the post about the effects of Saturn (link below).

The Venus-Saturn effect is not always divorce or breaking up. Often the relationship goes on (due to responsibilities or because of the law, taxes, a company that must go on, children). It is limiting fun and the only way out seems to be: to love and like obligations and continuity. But of course, very much depends on where, when and how you live, of the importance of the aspect Venus-Saturn and of the other aspects and positions in your chart.

Broken promises and revenge or punishment: that is what Orcus, the latest discovered Plutonian object, is all about. This symbol must be important for astrology and love…

Lothar Matthaeus, the German football player, was confronted with pictures of his fourth wife, obviously enjoying the company of another man. This was a perfect example of the effect of a transit of Orcus. Inconjunctions are reflecting lost balance or losts…Transit Orcus is exactly inconjunct his natal Sun right now.

And there is more…

Transit Saturn is opposition natal Sun (end of a period, caused by others) and transit Uranus is conjunct natal Sun (upheaval, you are in the news…).

So we can’t just blame Orcus for this, but the symbol was there as obvious as the secret lover was. But it could just be coincidence, of course...

Orcus is important in the charts of the Prince and Princess of Wales, Charles and Diana, too. He has Sun inconjunct Orcus. She has Sun conjunct Orcus. His Orcus is sextile/semi-sextile her Uranus and Venus . Those aspects of Orcus and Sun are reflecting that ‘ keeping oaths’ (not) was an aspect of importance in their lives. They shared this aspect of learning to live with the Plutonian Orcus.

Former candidate for the USA presidency, John Edwards tried to keep it a secret and he denied for a long time that he is the father of the baby of his lover, Rielle Hunter. John Edwards is now divorcing his wife (who is a breast cancer patient). Why does this happen? Is it just because he is rich and famous, or are there indications in the natal chart? Or both? Indications for divorce in the chart of men are afflictions of the Moon with Saturn and Neptune, Venus in hard aspect with Neptune, Mars afflicted by Uranus and/or afflictions between the houses 1 and 7. We see a number of those afflictions in the chart of John Edwards.

1. Moon with Saturn and Neptune

The Moon sesquisquare Saturn and Neptune seems to be very appropriate considering the fact that his wife is seriously ill. Saturn-Neptune is the combination of illnesses, too.

The aspects of the Moon with Saturn and Neptune are also two of the four indications that the astrologer Ram mentioned as indicative for possible divorce (or not marrying at all) in the charts of males.

2. Venus and Neptune: a quindecile

John Edwards has Venus quindecile Neptune (and Saturn)! That is 3!

3. In the Astrodatabank chart Cancer is on the Ascendant. The dispositor of Cancer is the Moon. The seventh house is ruled by Saturn as Capricorn is on the cusp of the Descendant. Moon and Saturn are sesquisquare! Afflictions between the rulers of the first and seventh house are also difficult for a marriage.

WHY A LONGLASTING MARRIAGE?

Capricorn on the seventh house might have kept him in a marriage because of responsibilities, parenthood or other obligations. Capricon is for consistency! And for keeping up appearances, too. Ruler 7^th house, Saturn, is in Libra. Libra is the sign of 'being together'. The position of Saturn in Libra might prolongue relationships (good and bad ones).

in the news with sexual activities related to your career.

ASTROLOGICAL EXCUSES

John Edwards is a good looking Mr. Nice Guy and probably well to do. That is attracting a lot of ladies. With Moon in Gemini conjunct Jupiter rising before the Sun, he is the popular and positive looking guy. John Edwards also has Venus quintile Uranus, so he has a creative desire for 'something new', 'excitement' and adventures. Uranus is on the Ascendant shows the individualistic approach and an independent and free presentation. The unbearable load of being married, in the chart of good looking individualist...that is asking for problems. It may be lonely at the top sometimes, but not alone!:) Here is the chart. The positions on the outside of the circle ('transits') are the positions of the day of birth of Elizabeth:

Look at Mars (square MC): Mars is not making aspects within 5 degrees orb. Mars is 'calling', reflecting energy (drive, work or sex) at any possible level. Jupiter is rising before the Sun and Mars is 'calling': that is a statement for success in life and.. for reproduction. He officially has five children now.

There are probably a lot of astrological 'excuses', but I think that Saturn ruling the 7th in Libra and quindecile Venus is the key to sticking to an outdated marriage.

Of course, a man who has so many indications for divorce will not marry a perfectly matching partner. I don't want to sound cynical, but there must be room to fail, as it seems. That is why there is little match with Elizabeth.

She is a Cancer, he is a Gemini…no match

His Moon in Gemini, hers in Libra…match (their families and habits match)

Perhaps that ment that it was time to get married. There is a continuous rumor about Penelope being pregnant (since last summerJ), but of course, it might be true this time...

Penelope Cruz has an important Jupiter in her natal chart. This Jupiter is in a tight conjunction with her husband's Sun. And her Jupiter is trine the Suns of her former lovers (Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey). Perhaps Jupiter rules her 5th or 7th house or is IN the seventh house?

WHY NOW? PROGRESSED POSITIONS...

Her progressed Saturn is conjunct Mars (the natal aspect has grown tighter). It is a strange aspect for getting married if you don't know that she is working very hard for her part in then next Pirates of the Carribean! There was no time to party and no time for a wedding holiday.

Fact is that transit Saturn is now square the position between natal and progressed Saturn, urging and pointing at the clock: it is about time… growing up, age counts...responsibility time! And there is also the transit of Pholus opposition her progressed Sun for a turning point in life and life style. There are more aspects, progressions and transits, of course...Perhaps with her Midheaven or Ascendant (that we don't know).

And how about the broom? I already mentioned that his progressed Sun is now conjunct Venus and Saturn: time to get officially married. And that is a statement from above!:)

HE AND SHE

Javier is a Pisces with an unaspects Sun, drawing attention as a movie star. That is o.k. for a Pisces with ‘calling’ Sun. He has Mars rising before the Sun and sextile Jupiter and Uranus, square Pluto. It is an indication for a fanatic and inventive entrepeneur or activist who is likely to act on impulse (… except when it comes to getting married). It also means great and exceptional success in the job.

Penelope is a Taurus with Sun inconjunct Neptune (the aspect of the ‘fallen angle’ or the mismatch between you and your imago). The Sun of Tom Cruise was inconjunct her Neptune, too and he has Sun trine Neptune. They shared an illusion and the life of a movie star…Her Mars conjunct Saturn is one of the four indications for divorce. JUPITER CONNECTION

A very important planet in her chart is Jupiter. Jupiter rises before her Sun, Mercury and Venus. Jupiter is the symbol of the international and of successes. Her Jupiter was in a tight aspect with the Suns of Tom Cruise and Matthew McConaughey (two times a trine) and with her husband Javier Bardem, too (a conjunction). MATCH and SYNASTRY OF THE MARRIED COUPLE

The late Princess of Wales was born on a July 1 and married in July. This July post is about the match between her and Charles and about their charts on their wedding day.

MATCH

It is almost amazing how little match there is between the charts of Diana and Charles of England. (On the left is the chart of Charles with the natal positions of Diana.)

Though their Suns and Moons are not in conflicting signs, there is also no harmony, like a trine would offer. There is no tight aspect between them. And Mars in Virgo is no match for Mars in Sagittarius, even if there is no tight square. Venus in Taurus can live in peace with Venus in Libra, but they aren’t really a match. There is no major or minor aspect that links the planets. How could they have fallen in love? It was not because they ‘ matched’ and anyone could see that. If I were a match maker, would I want them to be a couple? No, not at first sight. It is no surprise that the charts don't show a couple at frst sight either.

So there must have been another attraction between them and there is. His Sun was exactly conjunct her midpoint AC/MC and that made him the center of her life and being. He was her destiny. And her Jupiter is on his Descendant. His uncle advided him to marry Diana. It didn’t make them happy together. But she gave him children. Jupiter is in his fifth house of children.

He married her with transit Uranus on his progressed Venus, transit Neptune semi sextile the natal Sun and transit Chiron exactly opposition his natal Sun. Progressed Midheaven inconjunct natal Venus is completing the picture. It says: a marriage, but...(there is something wrong).

HER CHART ON THE WEDDING DAY

Diana recently had had Neptune on her Ascendant, making her insecure and shy. But she also had transit Jupiter trine Jupiter (happy period), the Sun sign changing (life style changing), the Ascendant square Jupiter and Saturn (ups and downs), Progressed Midheaven conjunct Mars (your status related to a man).

In some parts of Europe people use NOT to get married these days, even if there are children. They don’t get married because they feel they don’t need an official license (and they don’t, as there are other ways to make financial commitments). Maybe it is also because of the fact that the church has less and less influence. In Denmark 60% of the children are born out of wetlock. Parenthood and marriage has split. Fathers and mothers call each other their ‘ friends’. Two generations ago they called each other ‘ mother’ and ‘father’, sometimes even when the children weren’t around! The roles of the individuals in a relationship changed. They are no longer parents, they are partners.

SATURN AND PLUTO IN LIBRA
The author was born in 1982, when Saturn (symbol of a little bit) was in the sign of marriage (Libra), just like Pluto (symbol of problems and investigations). You could also read these placements like this:

- must (Pluto) get married (Libra)? Or transformations in relationships?
- obligation (Saturn) to stay together (Libra)? Or the disadvantages of marriage being an issue?
- The ‘die hard’ relationship or ‘abstination’ of marriage?

The author of ‘ A little bit married’ was born in a Saturn and Pluto in Libra generation. Still, in the USA people marry quickly and rather young. A look at the interview reminded me of the fact that in the USA – or at least where Hannah lives- conventional marriage is more common than living together like one (without official papers and without romantic white gowns). The issues of Saturn and Pluto in Libra are personal issues if the planets have a prominent position (angular, rising before the sun or without major aspects) or if they are placed in the 7th house of marriage. All other individuals born with Saturn and Pluto in Libra experience the effect indirectly (through others, from the media), perhaps.

TIMES CHANGING?
Of course, there is a big difference in transformations in marriage between the Western world and small villages in conservative and strictly religious worlds. Maybe it is significant that Pluto (the symbol of transformation) is not being regarded as a ‘ ruler’ in Indian and classical astrology? But let me stick to the Western world.

The revolutionary change of Pluto in Libra seems to have had more effect in Europe than it had in the USA. But divorce figures have risen in Europe and in the USA, except in those countries where less people got married☺. See, you always have to consider the status quo, the moral and local traditions and habits when you read individual charts or interprete the effect of Saturn and Pluto in Libra. It is different, depending on the culture.

Meanwhile, the next generation is more willing to get married. And they have parties and are dressed in white when they do. Some young men even ask the father for the hand of the daughter, like in the old days! Times are changing again, maybe because some things never change. BTW I will be celebrating the wedding of friends next month. They lived together for more than 10 years and have a 7 year old child. Now they decided that it was time for a party and time to get more than just a little bit married☺

There is a table of matching signs on Astromarkt for those who want to have a quick look to see if the sun signs are matching. But, with some calculating, you can also see if your specific birthday matches with your lover's (or your cat or your manager). You know, sometimes signs match while birthdays don't. Or signs don't match and birthdays do...The exceptions of matching/not matching signs can be found by calculating the aspect (difference in numbers/degrees) between your birthday and his/hers.
I posted this a few months ago and I like to place it on top of the list again today.
How does your birthday match with your partner's? Just check it, for fun. It is also training you to calculate aspects in astrology!

DEGREES AND DAYS
Every birthday has a number for each degree of the sun. There are 360 degrees, one for each day, starting with March 21 (Zero Aries, spring equinox). That means that January 1 has number 281. How to find your Sun's degree? Use this post and start counting, or go to the Astro.com calculating facilities for synastry (but they don't calculate some of the minor aspects).

It is simple: day number 1 - day number 2 and then see what the result means. Attention: if one of the number is > larger than 180, than ad 360 degrees with the smallest number. If you don't find the result related to an aspect in the list, then go to the table of matching signs on Astromarkt

Examples:
1. You born February 11 (number 322) and he or she was born December 2 (250). Difference = 72. That is between 70.5 and 73.5 and that means that you two are able to create your own special world together.

2. You born April 1, he born May 17. Difference (56-11) = 45. Living together is sometimes a frustrating challenge for both of you.

3. A more difficult example:
June 1 and December 31 (70 and 279=430 en 279=151).

Daniel Westling used to be her fitness instructor. They seem to match perfectly. The wedding date might have been selected by an astrologer:). In the progressed chart for June 19, the Progressed Ascendant will be square progressed Venus. That is a classical reflection of getting married. Crown Princess Victoria (just like Willem-Alexander, next king of the Netherlands) has a prominent Sun ('calling' ) and angular Jupiter (on IC) . Here is more about the match with her fiance:

Her Venus is biquintile his. Though their Venus are not in a matching sign and tastes and preferences may differ, they found or find a creative way to appreciate each other.

Their Moons are not matching (Aries-Cancer) and that is in line with the not matching education and family backgrounds. They will have to get used to each other's habits and traditions.

SYNASTRY
His Uranus is square her Sun and that might lead to controversy once she is the Queen (and he will be her Prince). He may be objecting against her leadership or just rebel a bit. She may be the Queen, but he also has a ‘ calling ‘ Sun: he will draw attention at any possible level. Well, he did. He will marry the country's first lady to be. It didn't change the observations of the synastry much. But: the Moons are now in not matching signs. Together with the Uranus-Sun affliction (with a risk for enstrangement), there will (or already were) difficulties to conquer (like in most marriages).

Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown married and divorced. The marriage lasted rather long considering the fact that they had problems from the beginning. Here is the chart of Whitney and the positions of her ex-husband are the transits (in green).

For living together as one, it is easier to have matching sun signs. This is because the Sun is the symbol of life, heart and will. The Suns of Whitney and Bobby are exactly in opposition, so that they attracted each other even though there was a big question mark about how to join there ways of living. Their lifestyles don’t match.

There habits didn’t match either. They have the Moons in not matching signs (Aries and Virgo). If the Moons were inconjunct (150 degrees apart) there might have been extraordinary attraction leading to missing balance between them.

Mercury is the planet of communications. Their Mercuries don’t match, so that communicating wasn’t easy.

His Venus in Aries matches hers in Leo, so they definitely liked each other and shared preferences and tastes.

Her Mars in Libra however doesn’t really cooperate fluently with his Mars in Scorpio. Her Jupiter and Saturn are in conflict with his Mars. His Mars is inconjunct Saturn and square her Saturn. That is a bad sign, often making them enemies.

His Saturn is square her Node and that is an indication for separation.

So why did they marry? I think that there is a meaning in her Sun opposition Pholus and his Sun conjunct her Pholus. Pholus is the symbol of the turning point in life and she certainly had dramatic turning points in hers. Pholus is the Centaur who shot his own foot. She might risk ‘ shooting her foot’ more often and he is the living proof of how she did that. On the other hand, he may have been the catalyst of some inner and outer process that we are unaware of. Who knows..And perpaps things are even more complicated. Bobby Brown says that she introduced him to cocaine! Anyway, the complications of their relationship are reflected by the complicated aspects between their charts. The experience didn't stop Bobby from marrying and divorcing again and again and again...

PS On Astropost I wrote about the obsession of Osama Bin Laden (also an aggressive person) for Whitney. I wrote this:

In August 2006 an 'ex-sexslave' of Osama told the media that he was obsessed by Whitney Houston and even planned murdering her husband. It is astrologically a case of counterparts. Hard to say if they will separate NOW (I don't know the hour of birth of Jessica Biel). They share the aspect Sun trine Jupiter (they are going for success), but they also both have an affliction between Mars and Saturn (the indicational aspect for divorce in a female's chart).
So I doubt that this will be an eternal partnership, but people CAN go for it and do therapy, of course.

Jesse James is a successful person in business and he used to be successful in marrying Sandra Bullock, but now they separated after his affair with a tattoo-model. I have written about them before (see the earlier post). That was before I knew the hour of birth of Jesse James (thanks to Femscorp:).

Why is he 'cheating' and why can he? Let us take the circumstances into consideration: he is rich and attractive, women like him, he is a member of the jet set and his wife was far away for weeks. He is also the kind of person who needs to have exciting contacts and discussions (Moon in Gemini trine Uranus). His Sun/Moon midpoint is in hard aspect with Uranus: he is motivated by change, excitement and adventure and family life will often by hectic. And ...he has the usual indications for divorce in the chart of a man + an Venus in Aries, the ruler of the first house in 12 sesquisquare Neptune (natural ruler of the 12th) in the 7th house.

Venus in Aries is a difficult position for Venus, because it is for love at first sight and astrologically because Venus is in the sign that opposes the sign that Venus rules (Libra). Perhaps Jesse has a charming, but direct way to present himself as a result of this. The problem with Venus is, that there is an affliction with the
planet of illusions: Neptune.

Venus is sesquisquare Neptune in the 7th house. Now there is a double affliction (ruler 1 - planet in 7 and Venus-Neptune). Venus-Neptune and 1-7 afflictions are among the indications for divorce in a male's chart. Venus-Neptune is the combination of art, too, because it relates fantasy and dreams to beauty. In ordinary life it is the combination of romantic ideas in love and about women.

Venus is in the 12th house, just like Sun (inconjunct Neptune) and Saturn (inconjunct Neptune). Neptune ruler of the natural 12th house is in 7 and Venus ruler of the natural 7th is in the 12th. That is another indication for Venus-Neptune, the aspect related to love affairs.

Another indication for divorce is Moon opposition Neptune, out of sign. The amount of indications for divorce says enough. Jesse James married more than once. Moon and Venus (ruler 1) afflicted by Neptune (in 7). It doesn't mean that he can't stay married at all, but his need for (exciting) love and romance stands in the way to make it long lasting.

WHY NOW?
There are several astrological reflections for the present situation:

- Progressed Venus is almost exactly square natal Midheaven; his status and position is related to women in a difficult way now.
- Earlier Venus was quindecile the Descendant: a strong focus on partnership-love.
- The Moon is inconjunct Venus in the progressed chart. Moon-Venus conflicts are conflicts between or about women (in a male's chart) and it is about getting out of balance because of sentimental feelings right now.
- The ruler of the Descendant in the progressed chart is Jupiter, now opposition transit Uranus (and that is often indicating sudden relief but Uranus opposition ruler 7 is not).
- Progressed Uranus is inconjunct natal Sun and that will remain so for a longer period of time. The inconjunction between Sun and Uranus is in the natal chart, too. The aspect refers to being special, drawing attention by the way that you differ from the others in a rather disproportionate way. Jesse James is an outsider in the world of movie stars. His marriage brought him into that world.
- Transit Saturn inconjunct progressed Saturn this year...

So what you see is a lot of Uranus (upheaval) like in the chart of Sandra, who also has the Saturn inconjunction for separation.

MATCH
In the earlier post (click here) I mentioned that the Moon of Jesse James in Taurus does not match with the Moon in Aquarius of Sandra, but now I know the hour of birth and his Moon appears to be in Gemini. So the Moon signs match, but now there is another difficulty. The Moon of Jesse James is opposition the Sun of Sandra Bullock and that is a challenging aspect in synastry, even though it is an indication for attraction.

Further:
- Their Suns are in friendly signs.
- Venus quintile Venus: a creative way to combine tastes and share sympathies and liking each other, too.
- Mars is opposition Mars, in a very wide aspect, to reflect sexual attraction followed by the (distant) possibility of fighting or competing with each other. As his Jupiter is in aspect with her Mars, there is also compensation for that.

It is not such a bad match, it is a matter of sharing Sun-Saturn that makes it easy to drift apart (see the earlier post) and on the other hand: hard to separate because of the shared responsibilities (and maybe business/mortgage) and because of the idea of consistency.

Famous couple: Sandra Bullock- Jesse James

This post comes a bit too late. As it seems, Sandra has left Jesse James after an interview in Touch with Michelle McGee, the ex-lover of Jesse (while he was married with Sandra). There is a rather good match between their charts, apart from the not matching Moon signs,which doesn't make it easy to live in the same house and get used to each other's habits or family. There is one important shared aspect that is reflecting distance and seperation as an issue in their lives and a shared issue in the relationship: Sun afflicting Saturn.

Sandra Bulluck has a 'calling' Sun, a Sun without major aspects. It means that you draw attention as a leader or as a star, anyhow, somehow. And her Sun is inconjunct Saturn on Midheaven(time of birth by Astrotheme). I have written about
Sun inconjunct Saturn before on Astropost (click the label inconjunct saturn'that you see on astropost.blogspot.com). It is one of the most difficult aspects to have to deal with, even if you are a 'lucky star'. And she married a man with Saturn rising before the Sun and conjunct Sun (apex of a Yod), so that they share an important Sun-Saturn affliction. They were probably very serious when they started their life together. And they kept 'minding their own business'. It kept Sandra away from home for weeks. In that period Michelle and Jesse had an affair.

Note: When you share difficult Sun-Saturn aspect there are two possible scenarios: staying together because of the law, mortgage, business, parenthood...or separation and divorce. Saturn often points at a certain distance (by age, by restrictions such a one partner being married, etc.). In an individual's chart the Sun-Saturn progression or transit frequently indicates the end of a period in life. Sun-Saturn's like to keep things under control and that might be a reason to take the first step and say goodbye, earlier than other persons do, unless they are certain of their partner.

MATCH
Their Suns are in friendly signs, but their Moons don't match. So perhaps it won't have been easy to get used to living together and sharing habits, food and family. That is largely compensated by Venus quintile Venus: a creative way to combine tastes and share sympathies and liking each other, too. Their Sun signs seem to collide (Gemini and Pisces), but the Suns are 80 degrees apart and that is a binovile. Binoviles are about 'rejoycing' things. So maybe they rejoyced being together:)
There is also match between the Moons and Venus, so they probably were comfortable and at ease with each other.

Carla Bruni and Nicolas Sarkozy are the sort of famous couple that knows how to draw attention. On Astropost I wrote about them when they had just fallen in love:

The French president Sarkozy (born 29 January 1955, 22h Paris) has fallen in love with Carla Bruni (23 December 1967, 18h10 Turin). Her Moon conjunct Pluto is square to his Venus. That is a strong loving feeling, yes! His Ascendant on her IC adds a sense of familiairity. But...their Suns, Moons and Venusses are in a difficult position towards each other, so it might not be easy to live together of to share each others tastes and preferences. Not as easy as it was to fall in love...

Carla Bruni is an artist (see Art&Astrology) with Neptune oriental, conjunct Venus. Sarkozy is an ambitious man with diplomatical talents (Venus crucial, Saturn oriental). It caught my eye that in the composite chart Neptune is in a crucial position, right on top of the IC. Should it be just coincidence that Neptune is on the solar return descendant of Sarkozy? And that Neptune is on the solar return ascendant for 2008 for Bruni? I wonder...And what about the fact that they were first spotted in Disney Land (a sort of a miraculous place, full of fairy tales, in line with Neptune?)...Sometimes it is a miracle how astrology works.

Madonna has (or had) a lover. They still name him her 'toy boy'. His name is Jesus Luz, he is a model and he was born January 15, 1988 in Rio. Here you see her chart. Her hour of birth has an Astrodatabank DD rating. That is practically an hour unknown or disputed. So I limit myself to the positions of Sun and planets to see what their match was, using very tight aspects only. Why were they together and why couldn't it last forever (apart from the age difference)? Here above is the chart. The transits represent the positions on the day of birth of Jesus.

MATCH
1. Her Sun is inconjunct his Sun.
That is misbalance between stars:) and living together might be difficult. Still there may be extreme attraction between them.
The inconjunction is indicating a possible lost in the end, or having to compromise.

2. Their Moons are in friendly signs.

3. Venus is inconjunct Venus
It will be hard to join their sympathies and tastes, but they might nevertheless like each other in a disproportionate way. Given the fact that she is much older than he is, there is of course a mismatch when it comes to joined preferences. They may have different ideas of what is fun. That might eventually result in pleasure getting lost.

4. Mars quatrinovile Mars (160d)
That is a pleasant match between their Mars, a fortunate match for sex and ... for working together.

SYNASTRY
Her Jupiter square his Sun: she is protecting him and has faith in him.
His Jupiter trine her Sun: the same goes for him!
They share a Sun-Jupiter aspect in the natal chart, too. They want to have success and be happy and that is what brought them together. There was mutual trust and they made each other happy.

Her Venus in a wider trine with his Mars is a perfect composition for passion...And with Venus 75 degrees from Mars there is a hidden passion in Madonna that swiftly goes along with the interaction between them.

CONCLUSION
The number of important inconjunctions*) between them refers to a mismatch for living together and love. But there was enough stimulating fire and both benefited from the relationship. When the relationship started, Jesus said something interesting when you consider the inconjunctions between the Suns and Venus-Venus. He said that he wasn't sure that Madonna was the woman of his life.

Famous couple: Bill Clinton and Hillary (and Monica)

On Astrology and Love I wrote about Bill and Hillary Clinton before. In the post they were famous examples of not matching sun signs. Their not matching Suns are in Leo and Scorpio.

Often when Suns are in conflict there is an issue of ‘ who is the boss’ (ego in conflict!). Their Suns are semi sesquisquare apart (67.5 degrees) and that might keep the relationship going like a perpetuum mobile, always finding ways to make it a solar match. Both have a strong will and as their Suns are in fixed signs, they are likely to be willing to continue the relationship instead of breaking up, even if it is just for the public eye. They don't match at all. It takes something else than living together and luv to keep them together. That is:
a. They inspire each other (Mars septile Mars!).
b. They compete (Sun-Sun and Mars-Mars) and stimulate each other that way.
c. T hey both are ambitious political strategists with a dream.

That strategy and ambition, fixed sun signs and Saturn keeps them together in a long lasting relationship in spite of the publicity about Bill Clinton's affairs.

VENUS-SATURN
Hillary has Venus square Saturn. Bill’s Saturn is square the Sun of Hillary. Often that is a reflection of the importance of status, guilt or age in the relationship. Saturn doesn't always separate (in public). Saturn often brings consistency (a lawful wedding). The interesting thing is, that Bill's Saturn is also afflicting the Sun of Monica Lewinsky! The same idea of status and consistency that keeps Bill and Hillary together (officially) kept Monica and Bill apart: the Saturn effect! INDICATIONS FOR DIVORCE
Hillary’s chart doesn’t have the usual indications for divorce in a woman’s chart, but Bill has Venus conjunct Neptune and Mars quindecile Uranus. It must be hard for him to be faithful, says the chart, and we all know how hard it was. When one person does have indications for more than one relationship and the other has not, we can expect affairs, especially when a man is rich (attracting all kinds of girls).

HILLARY
Hillary Clinton is a Sun Scorpio and Neptune rises before the Sun so that she needs dreams, ideals and romance first of all. She has a ‘ calling’ Sun, for leadership and drawing attention and Mercury in Scorpio is tightly square Saturn (for communication strategy, political restricted information). She might have an early Aries Moon trine Jupiter and that completes the picture of the top politician. In the study of American Presidents on Astromarkt you see that they all had Mercury-Saturn-Pluto combinations and that most of them had a Moon-Jupiter aspect (because they need to be popular in order to be elected). The hour of birth of Hillary Clinton is unknown.

BILL CLINTON
Bill Clinton is first of all a man who uses a political communication strategy. It is easy to see: Mercury, Saturn and Pluto rise before his Sun, together. He doesn’t have the Moon-Jupiter combination that other Presidents have. Maybe Sun/Moon sextile Jupiter is a compensation for that. His angular Neptune is reflecting the dreamer and idealist.

MARS-PLUTO
Just an observation: Hillary Clinton has a tight conjunction of Mars and Pluto. Bill Clinton's Mars is angular and Pluto rises right before his Sun. That shows the importance of their political (Pluto) activities (Mars) for both of them.

JOINING FORCES
Bill and Hillary don’t match, at least: their signs don’t match. Their long lasting relationship is exceptional, also in astrological terms. It is a relationship between two very ambitious political strategists and idealists who joined forces. You can see that: there is a minor aspects between their Mars, a septile. Septiles have to do with inspirations.What Bill does inspires Hillary and vice versa. Even their competition is inspiring to them.

I don't think that what Bill did with Monica was an inspiration to Hillary, however. Bill and Monica matched a little more than Hillary and Bill do:

- They are both Leo’s (and like to draw attention and show off)
- They both have the Moon in Taurus (and want comfort, luxury and luv)
- Their Venus signs match (they have the same taste and sympathies; they liked each other)

Mars in Aries is opposition Mars in Libra. It is always nice to see exceptions when there is a rule. Nancy and Ronald Reagan's Sunsigns did not match and they remained together till death did part them. Nancy Reagan says that she sees her husband every night, still... No matching sun signs, but what a lot of supporting aspects in synastry! (You see Ronald Reagan's chart above and the positions of Nancy Reagan on the outside of the circle.) Here are some of the aspects between the charts:

- his Jupiter was trine and his Moon sextile her Sun so that he was a a great support for her family life and she was motivated by his optimism and help.
- her Jupiter was trine his Moon, so that she made him feel good
- her Mars quindecile his Uranus, his Uranus trine her Mars; this must have been mutual 'sparks' setting them on fire
- his Jupiter is trine hers, for convictions in line...and making each other happy

Yet, their Suns did not match. They must have had life styles that didn't correspond at all. Or: the wider inconjunction between Sun and Sun must be a match, meaning a disproportionate way to share lives. Another explanation: signs are less important that aspects (their Suns didn't make a tight aspect). Or it was just the overwhelming effect of all the pleasant aspects between the couple's charts...And how about the square between his Saturn and her Moon (2nd degree of Leo) conjunct Midheaven? Saturn often refers to consistency and the Moon on Midheaven to a position AS a wife. We all know them as the President (Saturn) and first lady (Moon in Leo on Midheaven). She was a role model for many women and that is the effect of that Moon position. She had that position because of his status (Saturn).

Ted and Gayle Haggard sharing Venus-Saturn

Ted and Gayle Haggard married a long time ago. There has been a lot of fuss when the married former evangelical priest Ted Haggard confessed that he had 'homosexual issues'. His wife didn't (yet) divorce him and he is being 'treated' to become a purely hetero. What causes the problems and what keeps them going?

CHALLENGES
The positions on the days of birth of Ted and his wife Gayle show that they were both born with the potential of challenging relationships. They also don't match.
I erected a chart for their days of birth for Washington (not their places of birth!), just to see where the planets, Sun and Moon were when they were born. You see his positions in the chart, hers on the outside.

She has 1 hard indication for a possible divorce (Mars opposition Saturn).
He has the Moon square Saturn, that is also one indication.
When people have 2 or more of such indications, divorce seems to be inevitable when it is a first marriage. The Haggards have less (unless there are 2 or more afflictions between their first and seventh house, now unknown because of the unkown hour of birth). It means that there may be challenges, but not necessarily a divorce (and isn't that correct:)?

VENUS AND SATURN
There is an inconjunction between his Venus and Saturn. She has Venus trine Saturn. They share Venus-Saturn. That might indicate marriage of convention (for the sake of the children and status) and might be one of the components that keep them married though he is a homosexual.Venus and Saturn may be untrue sometimes, but the combination makes it also hard to separate from each other. Saturn is for consistency...They also stay together because of convention, the children, religion and the belief that homosexuality is a sin that can be turned on and off by free will. That is attracting a lot of ladies. With Moon in Gemini conjunct Jupiter rising before the Sun, he is the popular and positive looking guy. John Edwards has Venus quintile Uranus, so he has a creative desire for 'something new', 'excitement' and adventures. Uranus is on the Ascendant shows the individualistic approach and an independent and free presentation. The unbearable load of being married, in the chart of good looking individualist...that is asking for problems. It may be lonely at the top sometimes, but not alone!:)

There are probably a lot of astrological 'excuses', but I think that Saturn ruling the 7th in Libra and quindecile Venus are what kept him in a marriage that might have ended sooner if his wife hadn't been ill and if there hadn't been children. There are rumors about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt splitting up very soon. I would not be surprised, because here on Astrology-love-romance I wrote about Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie:

RELATIONSHIP PITT-JOLIE: MARS SQUARE MARS
Aniston and Jolie share Sun-Neptune and see: Sun opposition Neptune of Jolie is on the horizon of Brad Pitt's chart. There is a link, as to be expected.
Jolie and Pitt do not match much. Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus and Mars are in conflicting signs. And the tightest conflict is that of Mars square Mars. I have seen that before: McCartney-Mills, Mars inconjunct Mars. And Van Basten-Van Nistelrooij: Mars square Mars. Fire! And it is only to be wished that they keep it in control.

What Jolie and Pitt share is Venus-Uranus. She has the square, he has the sesquisquare. They will love excitement and changes. Probably that is why they are moving around the world so much. ANGELINA

Within one year from now Angelina's progressed Sun will be conjunct Saturn (followed by a square by Jupiter). Her progressed Moon recently was conjunct Saturn. Progressed Sun/Moon is now conjunct Saturn and square Jupiter. Saturn and Jupiter together often reflect a domestic move with pro's and contra's. Transit Neptune is making a hard aspect with AC/MC and that is the symbol of disappointment.

So yes, there can be problems between them, because there is a basic possibility that the relationship might end and yes, it could be now. However, it could also just be just another way to seek publicity or for the tabloids to sell more:). In that case there is a chance that there will be another post about the couple separating, maybe soon. Because one thing is for sure: they are beautiful people and they fill a lot of blogs.

There are those kind of relationships that are not sex-related but are very intense and long lasting. Ramses Shaffy recently died and on the night before Liesbeth List held him in her arms. They sang together and had a special kind of friendship. He was homosexual, she is married, but they were a well known couple. How come? It is because they shared the Moonsign.Both have Moon in Sagittarius. Friends often have the same moonsign. It makes you feel like coming home...They also shared minor and major aspects between Sun-Neptune (the romantic life of the artist) and Sun-Uranus (the will to be independent and 'unusual' or different than the rest). Also his Pluto is inconjunct her Sun and that might point at a disproportional influence and intensity. Here is the chart of Ramses Shaffy with the natal positions on Liesbeth List's birthday on the outside of the circle. As you see, there were no matches that complicated this friendship. They just had joined experiences and desires and felt close!

Nicolas Cage married 3 times after he became the father of his and Christina Fuller's child. He is in the news today because Christina started a lawsuit for fraud about the property of a house.

Nicolas Cage seems to marry fast and short! What in his chart 'does it'? And did he match with his exes? (Of course he didn't!)

MATCHES (NOT...)
The former relationships were with women who were attractive but every time there was no match, even not between the Sunsigns. When there is no match between the Sunsigns (and the Suns are not related by a quintile or biquintile to find a creative way to live as one) without compensation by Venus (love helps:), it is very hard to keep the relationship going, especially when one partner has multiple indications for broken relationship. And even more when both partners do...

CAGE's INDICATIONS FOR DIVORCE
a. There are 4 (conjunctions and) afflictions in a male's chart that indicate a stronger possibility to get a divorce than other males. Cage has two of them (Mars sesquisquare Uranus and Venus square Neptune). Let us say that these aspects explain the adventures and the 'romance'. Venus square Neptune reflects romantic feeling and artistic talents.
b. Ruler 1 is Jupiter and ruler 7 (house of marriage) is Mercury. Mercury is square
Jupiter. That is the 3rd one.
c. It is rather easy to have multiple marriages when Gemini (a double bodied sign) is placed on the Descendant.
d. There are more difficulties than the ones mentioned above, like Moon square Mars and Venus conjunct Saturn.
e. Women like him and he likes them! With the Moon in Libra he has sense of style and beauty (and he likes the company of good looking ladies). Here are the former partners:

1. Christina Fulton was born June 26 1967 in Boise Idaho. Nicolas and Christina never married. Their child was born December 26 1990, when Nicolas Cage was 26 and Christina's progressed Sun was square his Moon.

Mercury and Venus don't match either...but Mars in Capricorn happens to be septile her Mars in Pisces, sextile his natal Sun. Again, sexual attraction 'did it', but it couldn't last because of the not matching Suns without compensation by Venus.

Again there is no match, only attraction.

3. Patricia Arquette was born April 8, 1968 with her natal Sun square his (very attracting, but also very difficult to deal with). Their Moons were in friendly signs (Libra and Leo), but their Mercuries and Venus didn't match. Mars in Capricorn goes with Mars in Taurus and that makes it easy to cooperate or to be attracted to each other.
But: her Saturn is square her Sun and his natal Sun and that is a sign for breaking up. Her Venus is opposition Uranus (sign for divorce in a woman's chart). The not matching Suns and Venus did the rest. Another example of attraction, but no match...

Nicolas Cage married a woman 20 years younger than he is, Alice Kim, in July 2004. Alice Kim was a sushi waitress before she married Nicolas Cage. She was born in 1984. In that year Jupiter was in Capricorn, the sign of Nicolas Cage's Sun. Marrying younger women is reflected by Gemini on the Descendant (Gemini means 'young').
Maybe the 3rd wife is the right wife? I shouldn't know, her date of birth is unknown.

CONCLUSION
When a man has so many indications for possible divorce and he marriages women who also have such indications (asap), it is not surprising to see him marry again and again in a culture and social setting that permits divorce and promotes marriage. The natal chart, conditions and situations together sometimes produce a matching picture!

FANS AND SUCCESSES
Of course there is more than marriage in the life of Cage. He is an actor. Nicolas Cage has Neptune rising before the Sun and Jupiter is opposition Midheaven. These prominent placements of Jupiter and Neptune contribute to having a devoted audience (fans, followers) and it increases fantasy. Famous couples: Ike and Tina Turner

In December 2007 I wrote about Ike and Tina Turner on Astropost.blogspot.com:

Ike Turner (5 November 1931 Clarksdale) died yesterday. He is famous as the 'man of'...Tina Turner was his wife until she left him after abuse.

You see her birth (26th November 1939, 22h10 Bronsville) and the positions of his day of birth outside the circle. His Mars is square her Mars and Sun. I have seen several examples (like that of Paul and Helen McCartney) of people fighting each other who have a conflict between their planets Mars.

In her natal chart Tina has Sun square Mars. That is by the way one of the major indications for divorce in the chart of a female.
Notice that Tina has Venus square Neptune, that Venus disposes of the Midheaven and Neptune is square midheaven. That connects artistic talents with the MC (vocation, profession).

Another thing I notice is that Ike's Sun and Jupiter are conjunct crucial positions of Tina. They were very influencial in each others' lifes...He may have been supporting and coaching her (besides the beating...).

Ike Turner died in the year that his progressed sun passed to another sign. That is an indication for a change in 'being'.

Mind if I add that her Sun is quindecile Uranus, another indication for possible divorce? And of course: Venus biquintile Uranus (the creative combination of aspirations for entertainment and ...for women's lib?)...There is even a fourth indication: Mars is septile Saturn! Now we have all for of the indications AND ruler 1 is afflicting ruler 7 AND a planet in the 7th house. Those are ALL of the indications! No wonder that she managed to break free. As it was her first marriage it was almost ' written in the stars' that it would be with the' wrong' guy. (And I use to think that maybe that has a function).

MATCH? NO!
But let us see if they matched! Of course they didn’t!

1 .Her Sagittarius and his Scorpio Sun don’t match, but as her Sun is making a half semi square with his, they were attracted to each other.

2. Her Gemini Moon square his Virgo Moon tells us that they didn’t have the same kind of habits or background and that it would be very difficult to get used to each others way of ‘ family life’.

3. Also, Mercury and Venus are in the wrong signs to get to like to talk with each other peacefully.

4. But the worse affliction is between his Mars and hers (as said before). The recent break up in the marriage of Tiger Woods and his Elin shows that Mars square Mars ends up in fighting each other. Unfortunately MARS-MARS interaction often leads to fast action because of the (sexual) attraction or because of the stimulating nature of the synastry aspect.

His Mars is also conjunct her natal Sun!

START AND FINISH
She probably fell in love (and started her career) with progressed Sun conjunct Venus, followed by trine Saturn and …square Neptune., at the foundation of her artistic successes and at the same time: misery. With Venus ruler Midheaven square Neptune and Moon 108 degrees (72+36!) Neptune, she has a strong pattern of professional artistic talents that was activated at the time. That is how she became famous. But when she left Ike, she became een more famous and forgot about Ike. When he started abusing her, her progressed Sun was square her Neptune. When she left him, his progressed Sun afflicted his natal Neptune. Roles were switched...

MARS SQUARE? BEWARE!
If you and your partner don't match much and Mars is afflicting Mars: beware and take care. It might be fun for a short while, but unless you operate in different businesses or sports and it is stimulating for your business to drive each other to the max, don't mate. There is a great chance of conflicts. But...maybe you have the feeling that it will be worth it when you come out of the fight as a winner, like Tina Turner did...

Do Tiger Woods and Elin Nordegren match?

Tiger Woods has a problem since transit Uranus over his Descendant made his relationships world news. Read all about him on Astropost.
But do he and his wife Elin Nordegren (mother of their two children) match? No, they don't. They seem to have married the right person to break free from later. Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes you meet a person and marry him/her because trough that person you meet Mr. or Mrs. Right:) or you simply get the children that you want AND your indepence...But divorces don't come easy. Can they be avoided by having a look at the match? I doubt it. People just don't believe it when they are told that they don't match. It is because they fell in love:)

SIGN FOR DIVORCE
When Elin Nordegren was born, the Sun in Capricorn was semi square Uranus. That is one of the aspects that show the risk of getting divorced. Tiger Woods has two (parallels of Moon with Saturn and Neptune). It is their first marriage, so it will be hard to stay together, unless there is a perfect match.

MATCH?
They are both Capricorns (he December 30, she January 1) and that makes it easy to live as one. But, their Moons are in opposite signs, so it will be hard to live as one in one house and family. They have different habits and needs and family backgrounds (she is Swedish). It won’t be easy to feel ‘ close’ soon. They will have to get used to each other or find ways to live together, but apart.
His Venus is in Scorpio and hers in Aquarius. That is no match, but fortunately 312 – 239 = 73 (a quintile), so that they like and love each other and found a creative way to match tastes and sympathies. The square between his Mars and hers is however not compensated at all. His Mars is important (on top of his chart), so that the square hits hard.

No, they don't match, really...And: there are more difficulties:

In Elin's natal chart the Sun is semi square Uranus and that Uranus is semi square his Sun! It seems that she married the right guy to divorce from and be independent and free again.

NEWS
Now that the public has been informed by more and more ex-‘ lovers’ about the adventures of her husband, there is a lot of pressure. Her progressed Sun has been 75 degrees from Uranus (a shock, a change) earlier and is exactly 75 degrees from progressed Uranus. That is confirming the natal aspect. It is time to see the truth.
Also the progressed Sun is now inconjunct Jupiter (being right, but…). The combination of Jupiter and Neptune is perhaps mirroring a relief. It must be awful to have to pretend all the time.

Elin has better times to look forward to. Within 18 months the progressed Sun will be conjunct Venus and sesquisquare Saturn. Perhaps there will be found an arrangement.

MARRIAGE
When she met Tiger Woods her progressed Sun sign changed (and so did her life style) and her progressed Sun was opposition his natal Saturn when they married. That is not a good sign. His life changed when he married her, too. He had progressed Sun opposition Uranus, a sort of a reflection of a ‘ matter of freedom and indepence’ . And now Uranus is there again…It seems that they married the right person to break free from.

No, there is no match between them. And yes, the transit of Uranus on the Descendant of Tiger Woods comes together with progression with Uranus in the chart of his wife. It must be very exciting, tense and hectic…

Famous couple: Al and Tipper Gore

There are a couple of famous couples on this blog and this time (because of the Climate Conference in Kopenhagen and Climategate) the couple is Al and Tipper Gore. They were born in the same year, 1948. He is an Aries and she is a Leo and that is a match. There is a minor hard aspect between their Suns that explains the difficulties in the relationship between Al Gore and Bill Clinton who has the same birthday as Tipper Gore (but was born 2 years earlier). As long as she doesn’t want to be the star (and that must be difficult for a Leo) their Suns match. It looks very attractive (two shining stars), but one must be leading. I would like to see them dance a quick step!:)

MUTUAL LOVE
With her Venus square his Sun and his Venus square her Sun, the mutual love and sympathy must be obvious. They really love and like each other, even though it is sometimes difficult to agree on matters of taste and style (as her Venus is semi square his). Their Mars match (his in Leo, hers in Libra) and her Jupiter is trine his Mars! That refers to reproduction (and they have children together). It is also an indication that she will support his efforts and activities.

GOING STEADY
Al Gore doesn’t have indications for a divorce in the natal chart. With Venus in Taurus and Mars in Leo (both fixed signs) it is to be expected that he goes for longlasting love (he goes steady!)..
Tipper Gore's chart has a difficult opposition between the rulers of the first and seventh house (Moon and Saturn) and between the ruler of the seventh house and Venus on the Ascendant. Venus is semi square Saturn (ruler 8). So in her chart we see possibilities for breaking up. However:
They have been married for ages now, since May 19, 1970. That is 40 years. So here you have an example of a long lasting relationship.

SUN-NEPTUNE
They share a conflict between Sun and Neptune (he has the opposition and she has a semi square). On Astromarkt there is an article about sharing aspects. I write about Sun-Neptune:

Sun and Neptune shared in aspect gives you shared ideals, dreams and faith or even a shared idol! But with hard aspects you might share the same disillusions as well or this relationship is disillusive. Cooperating could work out best in an asylum or in a non-profit organization where they can help others, and each other.
Another possible combination is between enemies and with Sun in hard aspect with Neptune shared. Ideology stand between you as was the case with the murderer of director Theo van Gogh who shared Sun square Neptune with his victim.

I read that they go to church each Sunday (if possible). Neptune is the symbol of ideology and religion. Perhaps the issue of sharing the same ideals is a hot item for the relationship. Life is not always a dream, but you can at least try to realise yours...perhaps that is the general idea of Sun-Neptune here.

The Spanish Princess Elena will divorce. In 2006 she and her husband (los Duques de Lugo) started living apart to reconsider their marriage and now they decided that it is really over and they asked for a divorce.
The news comes with a typical combination of transits and progressions related to her natal chart, involving the Ascendant, Venus and Uranus. The affliction of Venus and Uranus in the chart of a woman shows the possibility of divorce.

a. Transit Uranus - Venus - Ascendant
Transit Uranus at 22d43m Pisces is exactly conjunct her Progressed Venus and both are square the progressed Ascendant.

b. Natal Uranus - Venus - Ascendant
Uranus is sesquisquare the conjunction of Venus and Ascendant in the natal chart.

The transit 'copied' the combination of the natal chart and that is what makes this transit so strong. It is activating the existing potential.

ASPECTS WITH A RISK TO GET DIVORCED
Here is a list of difficult aspects for getting or staying married, as composed by the astrologer Ram:

In a man's chart they are:
Hard aspects between Moon and Saturn or Neptune, Venus and Neptune, Mars and Uranus.

In a female's chart they are:
Hard aspects between Sun and Mars or Uranus, Venus and Uranus, Mars and Saturn.

And in the charts of both genders:Afflictions between the 1st and 7th house (rulers)

I found that Venus in Aries or Mars in Libra do not make relationships easy. Neither does the placement of Neptune on the horizon in the charts of females. Hard aspects between Moon, Venus and/or Mars illustrate that it may be hard to find a match (and so the nativity needs to compromise).

Famous couple: Margarita and Edwin

Dutch Princess Margarita, daughter of Irene, the sister of Queen Beatrix, divorced Edwin de Roy van Zuydewijn, so we are pretty certain about their non-compatibility☺ . I wondered about the reflection of divorce in their charts and I found an uneasy match. Also, they both have indications for possible divorce in the natal charts. Since it was the first marriage for both of them, there was a substantial chance for breaking up. During the marriage difficult transits and progressions contributed to the hard situation. More about that on Wikipedia (see link below).

MATCH?

Her Sun is in Libra is 112.5 degrees from his Sun in Gemini. Although their sun signs ‘ match’ , there is a difficult aspect (square+half semi-square) between their suns (=lifestyle). This aspect is attracting them, but also making it hard to find a joined way of living.

His Moon might be in Gemini, opposition hers. That makes it difficult to live together as their families or background don’t match (and they did not).

There is no conflict between her Venus and his. In fact there is a 108 degree aspect (quintile 72 + half quintile 36), that is reflecting a creative way to like and love each other.

Mars is 112.5 degrees from Mars. A conflict between Mars and Mars usually ends up in fighting and so it did this time.

Possible effect of the aspects:
With the Sun and Moon afflicted by Sun and Moon it is very hard to start and maintain a family life. Venus and Mars in aspect however make it easy to start a man-woman-relationship, ending in a fight...Also, his Venus is inconjunct her Sun, reflecting a lack of balance in love life. So you see that there was a reason to become a couple and one for ending the relationship. Also they both have indications for broken relationships in their natal charts and this was their first marriage.

SHARED
He has Sun square Saturn on Aries Point, she has Sun trine Saturn. They share a certain ambition and position and that is what also brought them together. Her Sun conjunct Uranus is one of the aspect in the charts of women that point at a possible divorce and a double bodied sign . When a person has 2 or more of this kind of indicators it is pretty difficult to stay married or get married. Her former husband has 2 indications for divorce: Mars square Uranus and Venus opposition Neptune, even without knowing his hour of birth.

NOW
Princess Margarita found a new husband. She married and has a child and looks very happy. Recently she visited the Pope. It is been suggested in the press that she wanted to have her first marriage cancelled. That visit (accompanied by her brothers, sister and father) happened with Mercury opposition Vesta in her progressed chart. Natal Vesta is in Gemini, perhaps a perfect symbool of a second ‘ first’ marriage. Meanwhile her ex-husband says that he refuses to have his marriage cancelled.

Keys to divorce in the chart of Soraya

On Astropost I wrote about the astrologial keys to the divorce of Soraya and I realised that this post is perfect for this blog about love and romance.

Soraya was the wife of the last Persian Sjah and he divorced her because she did not give him children. Soraya happens to have all of the indications for divore as described by Dutch astrologer Ram! And she had Moon inconjunct Pluto. It looks like if the possibility of a divorce was already there when she was born. In her country, and as the wife of the Sjah, the fact that she couldn't have children turned that possibility into reality. She was not allowed to marry another man after her divorce.

KEYS
The keys to divorce are (see the chart below):

a. Afflictions between the first and seventh house

b. Sun in affliction with Uranus
(Sun is 67.5 degrees from Uranus in Soraya's chart and that is semi square + half semi square and I don't know how to name that in English, perhaps sesqui semi square?)

c. Venus in conflict with Uranus

d. Sun in conflict with Mars
Soraya's Sun is semi sextile Mars and her Mars is inconjunct the Sun of the Sjah, who was born 26 October 1919 at 4:41 a.m. GMT in Teheran. (The semi sextile and the inconjunction activate each other).

e. Mars in conflict with Saturn
Soraya's Mars is trine Saturn...But her husbands' Mars is conjunct Saturn. So these people share a Mars - Saturn aspect. On Astromarkt I write about that:
Mars-Saturn: working hard together as long as possible (like Queen Elisabeth and her late mother), sharing the same frustrations, not much fun (unless there are other indications). This aspect might indicate a lack of shared activities.

f. In general the position of planets in the 7th house give additional information.
Uranus in the 7th house reflects a hectic, controversial or 'flashing' or 'free' marriage.

g. In some cultures having children is important enough to divorce in case of difficulties in getting them.
Ceres, symbol of the Mother, is crucial, as Ceres is at the bottom of Soraya's chart*). The Moon - family - is in the fith house AFFLICTED by Jupiter and Pluto (which means a lot of success as a woman, but...)

SPECIAL SITUATION
If a woman has 1 or more of these influences, it will be more difficult to get or remain married. Soraya has 2 of them. But..in this case, there was a special situation. The Sjah seems to have loved her (although he quickly remarried), but was under pressure to leave the woman who failed to enable his dynasty to continue. Another thing is, that SHE was not supposed to marry again or find a lover after the divorce (or loose her life of desired lazy luxury ever after, reflected by Venus on the MC), but... she had to stay alone. And she was only 26 years old! When she was just married, she had progressed Venus conjunct Sun and she started a life in luxury! But let's see about her natal chart.

IT TAKES MORE AND ...A PRICE TO PAY
The Moon in Aquarius is opposition Jupiter, sextile Uranus and inconjunct Pluto. I like to have a closer look at the Moon inconjunct Pluto. An inconjunction often reflects 'but's' and Pluto is always there when there is a price to pay. Or when you have to give up on something. Pluto is on top of her chart, showing the power of politics, money and ...the importance of issues of LIFE and death (the continues cycle of life). This prominent Pluto is inconjunct the ruler of her Midheaven (- position, status -). She had an independent life in great wealth, but the price was losing her status. Perhaps the Moon opposition Jupiter in her chart shows that being a person was not enough and more was needed. With Moon-Jupiter it always takes more!

PS I wondered if the hour of birth ((9:46) is estimated by an astrologer (putting Moon and Jupiter on the cusps of the Placidus 5/11 houses) or if this is her real hour of birth. It might be true, because there is also Saturn opposition Jupiter/Midheaven with Saturn as the planet the finger is pointing at, indicating the possible fall/step back after a rise in society.

BTW Princess Diana also had Pluto on top of the chart...

*) Queen Fabiola of Belgium had no children with King Boudewijn to their deep regret and Ceres is on her Descendant. I don't know if it is a coincidence, but Queen Fabiola also has Venus on the Midheaven. She does not have Moon in aspect with Jupiter

Princess Diana and Giscard d'Estaing lovers?

Giscard d'Estaing wrote a book about a romance with a princess and now the world is wondering if he referred to Diana. He met her when she was divorced and he was a widower, but he is 35 years older. No wonder that her Saturn is exactly inconjunct his Midheaven and trine his Ascendant. It says 'respect', but where is the passion? In fact, there is an intruiging aspect, an inconjunction, between his Mars and her Venus. Disproportionate passion, it says...But it doesn't prove a thing. The fact that there is a picture of her apparently flirting with him, doesn't mean that they were lovers. The only certainty is that he has progressed (SA) Sun square Jupiter. That means: success and progress and possibly a lot of sold books!:)

Famous couples: Edward VIII and Wallis Simpson

Edward VIII (the later Duke of Windsor) abdicated to be able to marry the twice divorced Wallis Simpson. That is true love, isn't it? Let us see their charts and let us see if they really matched. In the end maybe your conclusion will be the same: they rebelled together and they strongly felt that they belonged together. The mutual Sun/Moon midpoint aspects with Jupiter and Ascendant and the shared 'calling' and elevated Uranus ruler 1 are clear about that.

EDWARD
Edward VIII has the following Astro ID:
- Jupiter rises before the Sun (the international, traveling) ; he lived part of his life in France.
- Juno (symbol of marriage) is positioned on top of his chart
- Uranus doesn't make major aspects in sign or orb 5 degrees. This 'calling' Uranus is reflecting the upheaval and the important change in his life. As Uranus rules the first house and is placed in the equal 10th house, the change is likely to occur in the field of status, position and family ranking.

His abdication came right after progressed Pluto inconjunct Uranus. Pluto and Uranus together imply a dramatic change. The inconjunction adds ‘giving up on something, lost’ to this meaning. Transit Uranus was inconjunct natal Midheaven, showing the change (with a lost) while transit Neptune was inconjunct his Ascendant, showing the disproportionate sacrifice.

A romantic nature is attributed to the Moon in Pisces. But Edward VIII had Mars exactly on Aries Point. So he could be sharp, too. And perhaps Jupiter in the equal fifth house (same position as in the chart of Catherina the Great – who had so many lovers) shows us why there was concern about his ‘womazing’ before he met mrs. Simpson.

WALLIS
Wallis Simpson:
- Uranus is the elevated planet, ruler of the first house and in the 10th equal house (public upheaval, change in position) and Uranus doesn't make major aspects. Just like in the chart of her husband Edward, Uranus is 'calling'. Together they 'rebelled'...
- Neptune is rising before the Sun (a romantic dreamer in the first place) and in aspect with Sun/Moon and AC/MC. Romance motivates her and is the key motive in her life!
- Her Sun square Aries Point doesn't make aspects: she will draw attention at any possible level.
- Mercury is conjunct Neptune, perhaps she was misunderstood or she really was hiding some facts. In any case, she was in fact mistrusted. They thought that she was after the money of Edward and didn't really love him.

There were indications for possible divorce in her chart:
Sun 67.5 degrees Mars (sesquisemisquare Sun-Mars)
Venus inconjunct Uranus (orb 3 degrees, however)
Neptune trine Ascendant (romantic/seductive attitude)
Mars inconjunct Uranus might indicate the 'wrong man'

In the days of her later husband's abdication (December 10, 1936) her progressed Midheaven was inconjunct Pluto, illustrating the lost of power, influence and money and the disproportionate influence of politics on her developing position. They married June 3, 1937. But did they match?

THE MATCH
Their Suns didn't match (hers in Gemini, his in Cancer) but as they were not far apart (only 3.3 degrees) they joined lifestyle and lives.

Their Moons didn't match either (hers in Libra, his in Pisces), an understandable reflection of the difference in upbringing, family style and habits. The Moons are sesquisquare, symbol of the frustrations that it must have given them both.

Their Mercury's didn't match.

Her Venus is semi sextile his. No match.

Her Mars is in Aries and so is his. But...they are a half semi square apart! It means that they were attracted to each other, and that they quarreled too.

SHARED ASPECTS
They share the same Ascendant in Aquarius and both had Uranus elevated and 'calling'. Were they just joining forces to withstand rules and regulations, I wonder. Where is the 'luv'? Why this sacrifice? And was it?

SUN/MOON: BELONGING TOGETHER
I noticed that her Jupiter, Chiron and Ascendant are in hard aspect with his Sun/Moon midpoint. His Venus, Jupiter, Chiron and Ascendant were in hard aspect with HER Sun/Moon midpoint. That can be read as follows: they had a strong feeling that they belonged together. It is exceptional that Jupiter, Chiron and Ascendant on both sides are in aspect with Sun/Moon! They must have made each other happy.

SACRIFICE, DESIRE OR FAITH?
Edward had Sun inconjunct Midheaven and Jupiter quindecile Midheaven. Jupiter and Sun connections are not uncommon for a member of the 'royalty', who is being protected and guided throughout life. But he also had duties, symbolized by Saturn semi square MC. The semi square reveals that the job's responsibilities may have frustrated him or we should belief in predicted faith and see it as an indication of stepping back later. The Moon in Pisces, square Midheaven, reflects the influence of romantic feelings on his career. Mars quintile Neptune (a creative way to give up on a job)? SO...
They may not have been 'made for each other' but when they married they at least liked each other*)and they certainly felt that they belonged together.
The tigh trine between Sun and Saturn in their composite chart kept them together. This aspect draws attention. Wallis Simpson had Sun sesquisquare Saturn. Edward VIII had Sun in a 105-degree aspect with Saturn. They shared restrictions (they were never officially accepted) and perhaps that created the first unbreakable bond for mrs. Simpson...

*) His progressed Venus was opposition her progressed MC and her progressed Venus was close to his progressed Sun in those days.

The exceptions of (not) matching Sun signs

This post is about (not) matching Sun signs and minor synastry aspects that make the difference.

When Sun signs are not 'matching' it is often difficult to stay together in the long term. Conflicting lifestyles and conflicting ideas of life's nature stand in the way, even if the couple loves and likes each other. Example: Ryan O'Neal and Farah Fawcett, who’s Suns were 78 degrees apart. They separated. Couples that have afflictions between other positions in the chart however, may stay together if their Suns are matching. For example, because they have the strong will (Sun in a fixed sign like Taurus, Leo, Scorpio or Aquarius), or because of the family/children or 'because it is supposed to last'(Sun in Cancer or in Capricorn). A famous example is Queen Juliana (a Taurus) and her Cancer husband Bernhard, who had 2 daughters with two other women during the everlasting marriage.

When Sun signs are not matching, there is often no ground for 'living as one'. But there are exceptions, of course (there always are:). Such as, when the Suns make minor aspects, hard or soft ones. Minor aspects between Suns in a relationship tell us that there is a link between the two natures. Minor aspects are for example: semi square (45 degrees), septile (51.4 degrees), sesqui semi square (67.5 degrees), quintile (72 degrees), sesquisquare (135 degrees), biquintile (144 degrees), inconjunction (150 degrees) and quindecile (165 degrees). Other minor aspects have 36, 75, 105, 108 or 157.5 degrees.

Examples:
The Obamas have Sun quindecile Sun, representing a strong focus on each other, so that they are sticking together like a stamp to a letter (as the song says). I know of a couple of actors who have Sun biquintile Sun, so that they found a creative way to join their lives. With the minor square aspects it may be a challenge to stay together, and life styles are obviously different, but the fact that there IS an aspect tells us that the challenge was accepted, like in the case of King Albert and Queen Paola of Belgium. An inconjunction causes lost of balance on both sides. Can such an affair last forever? I doubt it.

When Sun signs are not 'matching' and the Suns don't make a minor or major aspect, other influences than drawing each other's attention and wanting to live 'as one' become more important. I know a couple with Ascendant conjunct Ascendant. They may not have the same life style, but they join the same approach and they like the same environment. Isn't that part of the life style?:) Even though the Leo is the party beast and shopper while the Taurus is fond of riding on horse back and dreaming of living in a rural part of the country they look very close.

Suns may be in matching signs with challenging aspects. This happens with:

- the 67.5 degree aspect
This occurs when the Sun signs are two signs and 7.5 degrees apart, for example Sun in Aries 10 degrees and Sun in Gemini 18 degrees.

- the sesquisquare aspect
This happens when the Sun signs are 4 signs and 15 degree apart, for example Sun in Aries 10 degrees and Sun in Leo 25 degrees

These Suns draw each other's attention. Though they seem to be matching, there is a challenge to overcome and they have to learn to live together as one (or stop it).

Example of the contrary:
Every rule has it exceptions. Richard Burton (Sun in Scorpio) and Elisabeth Taylor married a few times and divorced a few times. Their Sun signs matched. She is a Pisces. There is no conflict between the Suns, but there are other conflicts, like the inconjunctions between Sun and Uranus or Venus and Saturn and the not matching Venus. Still, it is amazing how they kept believing in a future together and kept falling in love. Perhaps it is because of that matching sun. Maybe another time I will study their synastry, the aspect that they share etc.

When there is a conflict between the first and seventh house or (when it is a man) between Moon and Saturn, Moon and Neptune, Venus and Neptune or Mars and Uranus, or (when it is a woman) between Sun and Mars, Sun and Uranus, Venus and Uranus or Mars and Saturn...and when it is the first marriage...it is highly possible that divorce follows. But again: there are always exceptions.

Example:
Bill Clinton is a Leo. Hillary Clinton is a Scorpio. These Sun signs don't match. But there is a minor aspect between their suns (67.5 degrees, a sesqui semi square). I know a couple that also has such an aspect and they have a long lasting marriage, too. Bill Clinton has Sun and Moon afflicted with Neptune. Since it is his first marriage, a divorce might follow. But, Hillary doesn't have the usual conflicts in her chart and she is a Scorpio.

Positions, cultures, history and law give different perspectives, too.
Matching or not matching is not as simple as to be or not to be...

Venus, Uranus and the charts of Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe

Tony Curtis and Marilyn Monroe had a flash light relationship together for a few (short periods of) time. That is what he mentions in the book about his life.
Flash light in a relationship is often symbolized by Uranus. Marilyn had Venus semi sextile Uranus. Tony has Venus square Uranus. Venus and Uranus combinations reflect the desire for tension, excitement and 'thrills' like when you are in love. Of course this is not beneficial for long lasting (or dull) relationships. In the charts of women Venus-Uranus is one of the 4 aspect combinations that reflect a higher chance to get a divorce.

Ryan O'Neal used to be married with Farrah Fawcett. They divorced and there was a rumor that they would marry again just before she died. Mars-Saturn, the combination of death and divorce, is of major importance in their relationship. Both have an aspect between Mars and Saturn and his Mars and Saturn are in hard aspect with her Sun. In the composite chart Mars is sesquisquare Saturn. And in the final period of their relationship his progressed Sun was inconjunct her Mars and Saturn conjunction, reflecting a loss because of death.

SHARING MARS-SATURN
The Mars-Saturn combination is the aspect combination of restricted energy, death and divorce (in the charts of women). He has the square; she has the opposition in her chart. In the article on Astromarkt, about having the same kind of aspects as your partner, I write:

Mars-Saturn: working hard together as long as possible (like Queen Elisabeth and her late mother), sharing the same frustrations, not much fun (unless there are other indications). This aspect might indicate a lack of shared activities.

NATAL AND PROGRESSIONS
In her final hours the aspect of the issue of death (Mars-Saturn) brought them together again. This was reflected by the progression of his progressed Sun first inconjunct her natal Saturn and in the end inconjunct her natal Mars. That was the 4th Mars-Saturn combination that I noticed. (I already mentioned that his natal Mars and Saturn were in aspect with her Sun and that the composite chart has Mars 135 Saturn). The inconjunction has the potential meaning of 'lost', so that we can read this combination as a lost because of death.

SUN-PLUTO
Another shared aspect combination is Sun-Pluto (she has the opposition, he has the square). In their composite chart the Sun is sesquisquare Pluto. It means that their strong egos might cause problems. And that there was a strong and vivid but difficult bound between them. That explains how they got involved again when there was a shared health problem (how to survive cancer).

PERSONALITIES
Their natal charts tell us that they will have problems finding Mr. or Mrs. Right. Or should I say: that they need a little more experience until they settle down or realize that it is better to remain on their own. That is reflected by difficult distances between the Ascendant and the Descendant and by various aspects that I will name later in this post*). Farrah Fawcett's chart has such indications in the natal chart. But: with 60% of her positions in fixed signs she would likely hold on to relationships.

Ryan O'Neal's chart has minor aspects, not supposed to be difficult aspects or indications. But those aspects tell us that he is creative in dealing with separation of women, that he is a romantic seductive kind of guy and that he knows how to get related. With Moon sextile Venus women like him and Gemini (double bodied sign) on the Descendant tells us that there will likely be more than one marriage, even though 70% of his positions are in fixed signs and fixed signs mean: holding on...

MATCH?
- Their Suns didn't match much (Aquarius and Taurus) so they had a different lifestyle
- Their Moons matched (Cancer and Pisces) so they could be friend, their habits matched
- The position of Mercury speaks of good communications
- Venus does not match Venus (different tastes and preferences)
- Both had Mars in Aquarius, so they could cooperate in the same style

In some ways they did, in other ways they didn't match. I have noticed more divorces when the sun signs don't match. It seems to be important to have the same kind of nature or at least matching lifestyles, to have a long time marriage. Her Sun/Moon midpoint is square his Ascendant. Debbie Rowe and Michael Jackson were married once and perhaps they have children together, who knows. Their strange relationship raises the question: did they match? And the answer is: not in the long term, but...there are indications for a shared passion. So perhaps she speaks the truth when she says that she and Michael Jackson were lovers. Look at the synastry, for example.

SYNASTRY
Michael's Venus is exactly square the Mars and Jupiter of Debbie. Her Mars-Jupiter opposition refers to having babies (multi productivity). So perhaps THAT is why he liked her in the first place?

His Uranus is trine her Sun. That is a sign of friendship (and a certain distance). Her Uranus is conjunct his Venus and that is an indication for a flash light relationship (and offers a possibility of an adventure or falling in love - perhaps one of them did).

Her Moon in Libra does not match with his in Pisces, but they can both like arts and music and perhaps that is what brought them together.

She didn't fight her husband, she didn't divorce him either. Did she ever defend her children or try to divorce. And if not, why not? It is hard to say without hours of birth, but we can see general lines and important effects of aspects in the natal charts of the days of birth.

KATHERINE
Katherine Jackson has Mars square Saturn*). Usually with these kind of aspects people hit hard. Or they are being hit. It is the aspect of the 'little man' (like in the chart of Charles Chaplin that you may see on Art&Astrology). This aspect is one of the 4 indications for divorce in a woman's chart. It is the only one in hers. The Sun in Taurus trine Saturn perhaps prevented a divorce as she wanted to live an easy life and be respected (well, she made it!).

Her Mars is exactly inconjunct the Sun of Michael. The inconjunction often indicates a loss and Mars may hurt. Her Venus is square his Sun.It means that she was pleased to have him and that there was love and sympathy. The combination of Venus and Mars also shows 'a passion'. Maybe the birth of Michael physically 'hurt' her.

Right now her progressed Sun is changing sign and that means that her life and life style changed.

JOSEPH
Joseph Jackson was born August 26, 1929 in Fountain Hill Arkansas. His son Michael was born with Pluto conjunct the natal Sun of Joseph (so in a difficult, transforming and intense period for Joseph). This son would change his life. Also transit Saturn (Michael's Saturn) was inconjunct the Pluto of Joseph and that means that his problems were perhaps even worse (a depression). Pluto of Katherine is semi square Pluto of Michael. Michael was conceived in a difficult period in his life (and Michael was to become his 'enemy').

MATCH?
There is little match between the charts of Katherine and Joseph. Her Venus is trine his Mars and that might have been the 'point of attraction'.
It may be her religious ideas that keep the marriage going. Her Jupiter is 75 degrees from his Sun, her Neptune is conjunct his Sun. The combination of Jupiter and Neptune is a religious combination. On the other hand it is also the combination of the devoted audience in general. Perhaps she is his greatest fan.

The hours of birth would give more answers to the questions, but just like in the case of Michael Jackson, we can only guess at what time the family members were born.

Queen Astrid and King Leopold

King Leopold III is the man who drove the car that crashed and killed his beloved wife Astrid, young mother of the later kings. She died August 29 1935 when he had transit Saturn square progressed Ascendant (symbol of separation and being blamed). With his Mars conjunct Uranus I asume that he drove too fast. This conjunction of Mars and Uranus is conjunct her Descendant in Sagittarius. Sagittarius is the sign of travelling (and other countries). The conjunction is also joining her unaspected Mercury. Mercury is the planet of communications and transportation and important at any kind of level in her chart. This strongly connects an accident (in his chart) with her 'horizon'.

When she died, she had transit Pluto opposition Midheaven and transit Pluto inconjunct Saturn. This harsh picture of Saturn, Pluto and Midheaven was completed by the progression of Mars trine Pluto and the nearness of the progressed MC conjunct Saturn. She had progressed Moon square progressed Jupiter and personal experience tells me that that is not the best planet to start a vacation with. Also transit Mercury was square the progressed Mercury and Pluto. As Mercury is important in the chart of Astrid this is signaling a day with traffic problems (and that is an understatement, because it could be at any level since Mercury doesn't make major aspects in the natal chart). There were various reflections of a trip abroad with the posibility of difficulties and problems.

They didn't match much, Leopold and Astrid, but her Neptune trine his Sun makes him realize her dreams. His Venus and Sun are in aspect with the midpoint Sun/Moon in her natal chart. That is often reflecting the feeling to belong together (and frequent in the charts of couples) and the fact that he seems to fit in her idea of family life.

PLUTO
So, generally, no, they don't match much. They can live together and they can talk together, but they are different. They have another life style, other tastes and sympathies and another temperament. So how come they got married? And why for such a long period? In my opinion, it must be because of Pluto. Pluto is a fanatic. Pluto is not easy. Pluto is jealous. And Pluto is strong. And I almost forgot: Pluto is also the symbol of power, money and politics or authority. Their position didn't make it easy to separate. And look how important Pluto is in this relationship:

. When he married in 1959 Albert's Midheaven was inconjunct Pluto.

But..there are also Venus-Moon connections between them and that shows us that there is and was and will always be at least some feelings of sympathy and perhaps even...love.

Juno is the godess of marriage. That is why I expected to find a prominent Juno in the charts of people with important marriages. Of course, I started looking for well known personalities who's life would not have been the same without their marriage. Women like princess Diana, princess Máxima, Soray of Perisa, Karen Homolka, Jackie Kennedy, Elisabeth Taylor and Agatha Christie. But also of couples like the married couple Pierre and Marie Curie and Crown Prince Rudolf with Maria Vetsera. Look at the charts and you will notice the important positions of Juno and how Juno is related to the chart of the counterparts.

Juno is prominent in your chart when Juno is placed on the angles, on top or at the bottom of the drawing (square Ascendant), in aspect with Sun/Moon or ASC/MC or when Juno is rising before the Sun (the first object that you find when you move your finger clockwise from where the Sun is). Juno is also important when Juno does not make any major aspect in sign or orb 5 degrees. In that case partnership or marriage is of crucial importance or your first objective. Most of the time marriage is more important for women than it is for men. But I found examples of men in whose life marriage or the partner was more important than in the lives of other males. For example, in the chart of prince Charles, who has Juno 22.5 degree (half semi square) from the midpoint ASC/MC,while the Juno of princess Diana is semi square his Sun/Moon. In Camila Parker-Bowles natal chart, by the way, Juno is 'calling'(not making aspects within 5 degrees of orb or within sign), and that symbolizes how 'marriage' would be 'calling her' at any possible level and how the question of partnership could be 'out of control' in her life.

On Astrologie.blogo.nl I found the day of birth of Cecile Brossard. She killed her friend, banker Edouard Stern, after a SM-game. On Astropost.blogspot.com I go further into the murder, but here, on Astrology and Love, I will show you how they did not match, shared aspects (of life and chart) and had a deadly and passionate synastrie.

MATCH
Did they match? Not at all. They understood each other (Mercury trine Mercury), but there were no matching signs between the other planets and light. They had a different lifestyle (Sun), they had different habits (Moon) and they had different tastes (Venus). They did not even match in sexual cooperation (Mars). Notice that his Jupiter is trine his Sun (for trust) and her Saturn is opposition his Sun (for separation and distance and in this case: for ending - Saturn - his life - Sun-).

Catharina the Great and her young lovers

Catharina de Grote had many lovers. In The Hermitage in Saint Petersburg they tell us that there might have been 70 young tall men who shared her bed. She managed to take over the throne of her husband and he was killed a week later. From that moment on until she died, she desired the company of young men. I don't know if the young men were volunteers.

What in her chart tells us why she had so many young lovers?
a. Venus is conjunct Moon. She needed to be loved and appreciated and had a lust for love. She also had sense of art and loved to educate the people by means of libraries and arts.
b. Venus and the Moon are opposition the Midheaven. That tells us that her sense of beauty (and need for love) was of crucial importance.
c. Venus and the Moon are in Gemini, the sign of 'more than one' and the sign of 'young'.
d. Mars rises before the Sun and is conjunct the Sun in Taurus. This tells us that she is an energetic active lady and not likely to stick to reading novels.
e. There is a Yod with Pluto in the 8th as the apex of a Mars-Saturn-Pluto combination (the combination of the theme of unnatural death). The Sun/Moon midpoint is an important midpoint. Not just in your natal chart, where the Sun/Moon midpoint is highlighting the most important ability or issue in our life. It is also important in your progressed chart. Sun/Moon is very important for a relationship. Any planet of a partner that is in aspect with the midpoint Sun/Moon is creating a strong sense of 'to belong to a person'. A famous example is Queen Victoria. Her Sun/Moon in Gemini is exactly square the Sun of her husband Albert. They had 9 children together and she never stopped mourning his early death.

Happy Heather has Venus opposition Jupiter today. Paying Paul has Venus square Saturn and inconjunct Pluto. That is an astrological statement for a financial (Venus-Pluto) defeat (Saturn).

John Cleese, marriage and divorce

What evidence do we have for all this? John Cleese is not easy (Sun tightly square Pluto) and with Mars square Uranus he has a temper. Just like his alter ego Basil Fawlty:)

The Moon in his chart is calling! and in the eight house. That could indicate the problemous relationship with the mother, at any possible level, yeah! And today, with transit Saturn square Midheaven, things are certainly nasty. Also, with Solar Arc Mercury square Sun maybe you'd better take care what you say and where...

ARTIST
John Cleese is a prominent artist. Neptune is oriental and Venus is sesquisquare Aries Point for the combination of Venus and Neptune: artistic talents. Acting might be contributed to the calling Moon. And Notice Jupiter on Aries Point, sesquisquare Mars. John Cleese has 5 out of 10 prominent placements in his chart.

Pamela Anderson has a golden Yod (a combination of quintiles) of Sun, Moon and Uranus. Her Sun is sesquisqaure Venus and square Saturn. Now it is not uncommon for a star in the States to get married and divorced again, once and a while. But still you may notice that the Sun biquintile Uranus is as difficult for staying married as any other hard aspect between Sun and Uranus is in the chart of a female.

Like in other cases of beautiful women Moon, Venus and Uranus play the major role. The oriental Moon (rising before the Sun) is the end dispositor of the MC and Venus is opposed to the MC. Uranus has a crucial position right on the bottom of the chart. And Gemini (the Ascendant) will help her to keep looking young...

Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes

Sun, Venus, Mars and Neptune are prominent in the chart of Katie Holmes. With Neptune oriental she is the perfect dreamer to catch up with the beliefs of her husband, Tom Cruise. She lives with him, his mother, his sister and her children in one (I hope:) large house*). And it seams she is considering a move. Maybe that is because transit Uranus is opposition her Northern Node - for independency towards a group -? Or is it the progressed Sun getting close to Mars? I know that Sun-Mars progressions manifest the will to be self supportive and do your own thing.

MOON CALLING, CERES CONJUNCT SUN
Why is Tom Cruise living with his mother anyway? He has Sun inconjunct Saturn and that might make it difficult to have a life (without a parent) and ...to have a life (WITH a parent). But most important are:
- the calling Moon for the importance of habits and needs,
- and the fact that Ceres (symbol of heirdom) is conjunct his Sun and oriental.
He wants to live (Sun) close (conjunct) to his inheritance. And he is the one who is to provide for them. With Ceres rising before and conjunct the Sun he will be pleased to nurture baby Suri. I have the feeling that Ceres had an important role to play in 'Dynasty':)

SHARING THE MOON SIGN
For the issue of living together it is nice to see that Tom and Katie share a Moon in Leo and feel comfortable in each others' presence. They share the same needs and are easily adapting to each other's habits. There is of course interaction between their charts. Some of the synastry-aspects will be helpful to keep the relationship going, others are not.

DIFFERENCE IN AGE
Katie Holmes married a man who is 16 years older than she is. Venus sextile Saturn is one of the tightest aspects in her chart. In marriage and relationships she prefers to have security. When she married Tom Cruise - who has Saturn in the 5th house -(on November 18 2006) she had transit Saturn inconjunct and transit Uranus semi square her progressed Sun. It is rather strange that she had a composition for restricted freedom. Another transit on that day is Uranus semi square progressed Mars. That is the same aspect that they share! It seems that the marriage iniciated a whole new adventure for both of them.

The relationship with Katie made Tom Cruise very enthusiastic. He had the progressed Moon opposition Venus in 2005, when he fell in love and his Ascendant changed sign.
